Reflections

First block: In this block we learned new words for specific situations that I think is very useful to enlarge our vocabulary and have more tools for my speaking.

Second block: In this block we learned how to compare images or situations, I think the activities about record us are very useful because we can listen us and see wich are our mistakes and how wee can improve and remove them.

Final reflection: I think with this course I improved my English in general terms, my listening when the teacher showed us some videos and we need to understand the voices, my grammar with all the new words that we learned and my speaking with the activities on the blog, as I said in my reflection for the second block I think they helped in order to remove some mistakes and talk with better pronunciation.

Art

Hi friends, this time I will show you a kind of art called dadaism, this kind attracted me because I think it is a strange movement, so I will write and show you this kind of art.

Dadaism

It was an informal international movement that began in Zurich, it had participants in Europe and North America. The beginnings of Dada correspond to the outbreak of World War I. For many participants, the movement was a protest against the bourgeois nationalist and colonialist interests, which many Dadaists believed were the root cause of the war, and against the cultural and intellectual conformity that corresponded to the war.

Dadaism Philosophy
“The idea is more important than the work itself”
“Art can be made of anything”

Some characteristics

  •      Dada had only one rule: Never follow any known rules.
  •      Dada was intended to provoke an emotional reaction from the viewer (typically shock or outrage).
  •      Dada art is nonsensical to the point of whimsy. Almost all of the people who created it were ferociously serious, though.
  •   Abstraction and Expressionism were the main influences on Dadaism, followed by Cubism and Futurism.
  •       Dadaism self-destructed when it was in danger of becoming "acceptable

Some pieces of Dadaism:

Seeing this kind of pieces I think it was very crazy but as we know in art, everyone can make what he wants.

Water

Hi friends!

In class we investigate how water is used in Mexico, the next image respresent the information that we found:

77% is used in agriculture
14% is used in public services
4% is used in industries
5% is used for thermal power

Now I will give you some ways to conserve water:

  • When washing your hands, turn the water off while you lather.
  • Plant in the spring and fall, when the watering requirments are lower.
  • Turn off the water while you brush your teeth and save up to 4 gallons a minute. That’s up to 200 gallons a week for a family of four.
  • Avoid recreational water toys that require a constant flow of water.
  • Time your shower to keep it under 5 minutes. You’ll save up to 1,000 gallons per month.
  •  Check your toilets for leaks.
  • When washing dishes by hand, don't leave the water running for rinsing
  • Don't let the faucet run while you clean vegetables
  • Don't run the hose while washing your car
So, use this tips and save our most important resource.
